Admissions and Enrollment
Admission to the Two Day program is limited to children who will reach their third birthday between September 1st and February 28th of the school year for which they are applying. Admission to the Three and Four Day Nursery program is open to all children who will be at least three years old by September 1st of the school year for which they are applying. Children applying for the Junior Kindergarten program must be at least four years old by September 1st of the school year for which they are applying. All programs are offered based upon sufficient demand.
Application Procedures
We will begin accepting appointments for school tours for parents interested in the 2012 – 2013 school year on November 1st. Tours run from November 29th through February 29th. Prospective parents will have the opportunity to meet and hear from a parent of a current student, learn about the history of the school and what it means to be a member of a school cooperative. They also will tour the classrooms while class is in session and meet with the Director to learn about the curriculum and educational philosophy of the school. Please call the office at 312-944-5469 to schedule your appointment. Tours last about an hour, and are for parents only.
Returning Students, Siblings and Legacies
Applications from returning students, siblings of current or former students and children of former students (legacies) are due by January 13th. Contracts and a tuition deposit will be due February 24th. These applicants will be given preference in the admission process.
New Applicants
Applications for new students are due by March 1st. New applicants are encouraged to tour the school prior to admission.
Applications
Applications can be downloaded from our website. If you are unable to access our website, the Membership committee will distribute as needed. Applicants will be referred to our Membership Chairperson who handles admissions. An application fee will be collected with every application prior to processing.
All applications from new students will be processed as follows: Applications received on or before March 1st will be processed together. If there are more applicants than positions available, a lottery will decide admission. The remaining applicants will be placed on waiting lists. Applicants will be notified of their status by March 21st. All applications received after March 1st will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.
Tuition
A tuition deposit and contract are required upon notification of an offer of admission to the school. This deposit is non-refundable after April 1st. The balance of the tuition is due in two installments: on August 1st and January 1st. If paying tuition in two installments is a hardship for your family, monthly or bimonthly payments may be arranged through the Financial Manager with the approval of the Treasurer.
Financial Aid
Need-based financial aid is available at any time during the school year. Please contact the school.
