Parent Participation

With a few exceptions, parents are required to “participate.” Participating parents serve in one of two ways: assisting the teacher in the classroom on a rotating basis or serving on the Cleaning Committee.  The Cleaning Committee meets monthly in the evenings and provides maintenance, cleaning and repair of the facility. Parents who elect not to participate pay a higher tuition.

As a cooperative, parents are also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school and the maintenance of the building. This is handled by an elected Board of Directors and various committees.  Every family is required to serve on a committee and support the various fundraising efforts of the school.  In addition, the school welcomes volunteers for other tasks, such as updating our library records, doing weekly laundry and occasional shopping. Please contact the Director if you would like to volunteer.
