At the Co-op, we prioritize learning together. Families and staff build authentic relationships as the foundation for learning and teaching through a lens of empathy and justice. Our school community creates an environment of belonging and acceptance where differences are visible, celebrated, and discussed. We are committed to the practice of anti-bias education, and aim to help children feel confident in their authentic identities and stand up against all forms of oppression. We intentionally create space for and value all gender identities and sexual orientations, family structures, racial and cultural identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, neurodiversity and abilities that make up the broader world. Teaching and learning with an anti-bias lens is an ongoing process. It includes reflecting on our own biases and privilege, and how these shape our interactions. Together, we are all learning to build a more equitable and compassionate community.
